Camping and skin care..... They mix?

This past weekend we went camping, hardcore camping in tents, pit toilets and showers half mile away.   It's been a tradition with us for the past 3 years and we love it.   I live in the largest city in the Midwest and it's so comforting to get away to the country away from the hussle and bussle and just RELAX.  So let me show you the skincare products I used.
Easy Camping Essentials

From left to right:
The moisturizer I used for daytime was Lancome's Renergie Lift Multi-Action that I received in my Nordstrom beauty bag from HauteLook (my new addiction).    It has SPF 15 and it's a lifting a firming cream, I just like the SPF factor.   It's not my favorite moisturizer, it's a little heavy on the skin.  My skin is combination to oily, so I like a lighter moisturizer.
Retail price for 1.7 oz is $95.00
Next up is MAC's fix+ and Mario Badescu facial spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater.  I put both of these in a category together because I brought them for the same purpose, to refresh my skin during the day, when I woke up and before bed.  Being outside can dry your skin out so fast.  I try to mist these products on my face throughout the day when I remembered too also.  Both are great products but I love the scent of the Mario Badescu's facial spray better, ahhh it smells like roses.
Retail price for Mario Bedescu's Spray is $7.00 for  a 4.0 fl oz bottle
Mac Fix+ is $22.00 for a 3.4 fl oz bottle
I knew I didn't need a full coverage foundation so I used The Balm's Balm Shelter in light medium because it has SPF 18 (another purchase from HauteLook).  Even though I used a moisturizer with SPF also, you can never have enough sun coverage when you are outside all day long.   It's a very light coverage tinted moisturizer so you would have to reapply. It also leaves your skin with a dewy finish, I usually like a matte finish but its camping so I didn't care!  I used my Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki brush to apply the product to my face.  I am so in love with this brush, it's my holy grail foundation brush.  It makes your foundation look like its been airbrushed on.
The Balm's Balm Shelter retails for $25.00 for 2.15 fl oz
The Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki Brush retails for  $24.00

To have extra SPF I used Neutrogena Clear Face Broad Spectrum SPF 30 liquid lotion.  I like this because it says its break out free, oil free and water resistant.  Although I did notice that when I took a picture with this on under my foundation it gave a tiny bit of white cast on my face.  My face is already too pale, I'm NW15-NW20 type skin in MAC's code world, just to give you an example.
Neutrogena clear face retails for $10.99 for a 3.0 fl oz bottle

I used Batiste dry shampoo and Pureology's dry conditioner when my hair needed an extra cleaning when I woke up and before bedtime.  The dry shampoo I used for my roots and the dry conditoner I used for my ends.
Batiste dry shampoo retails for $7.99 for a 6.73 fl oz bottle
Pureology Dry Conditioner retails for $24.00 for a 4.3 oz bottle

To moisturize my face and neck before I went to sleep, I used Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins.  This is a great vitamin enriched oil free nightly moisturizer that makes my skin feel so soft in the morning.  Love it!
Origins Night-A-Mins retails for $41.00 for a 1.7 oz jar
Lastley, I used Baby Lips Dr rescue by Maybelline in the color Pink Me Up #04 to moisturize and protect my lips from the sun. I like menthol any time of year on my lips, call me weird!
Maybelline's Baby Lips retail for  $4.49 for a 0.15 oz stick

Oops I forgot I used Fresh's Soy Face Cleanser to wash my face.  I tried this out from Sephora from reviews on YouTube and I love it.  It takes your make up off and is very gentle.  It smells like cucumbers and it just makes my face feel clean.  The texture is a bit gooey and doesn't lather but if you can get past that for a great cleanser then you'll be all good.
Fresh Soy Face Cleanser retails for $15.00 for a 1.7 fl oz bottle

Remember wherever you are, always keep up with your skin care routine.  You only have one face in life so make your skin look fab!
Happy Camping!
Until next blog, thanks for listening,

Ughhh, another blogger?

So I've been thinking about blogging for a while now and finally sat down to do it.... I got my inspiration from watching YouTube videos and thinking, "hell, I can totally do tutorials, product reviews and fashion reviews." but then again I thought, am I that good yet? who's going to actually listen to me? This is where the thought of a blog began.

I'm a 33 year old mother of 2 children, (6 yrs and 2 yrs), full time wife and full time career woman but I love me some beauty products, make up, clothes, shoes, etc. I will be posting reviews about products and fashion items and from time to time I will be posting about Mi Vida Loca (My crazy life).   If there is any product you want to see a review on just leave a comment.

Can't wait to start blogging about beauty.....
